Hey Reader! How is your week going? Really…? It’s Wednesday already?? Surely you were just prepping for back to homeschool as well, like, just last week…and now we have 7 weeks until Christmas?! Speaking of, have you prepped for Christmas at all? Presents? I’d absolutely LOVE to hear if you have any Christmas traditions you do in your family! If you reply and tell me what it is (any traditions you do for Christmas each year), I’ll pick the top 5 coolest ones and gift the winners $20 in shop credit! And yes, that’ll go towards the brand new membership launching officially next week! It’ll be early bird founder’s pricing for a short limited time and then the price increases. (The price has already changed once and it’ll change 🆙 once again post-launch.) I’ll tell you more about it later but you can check that link out now and sign up if you like. If you do, not only do you get it ant founders price NOW but you’ll also find I’ve already uploaded quite a few brand new, exclusive resources, but the major pieces will drop Monday Nov 17th! It’s SIX different memberships too — or you can get the main one that includes ALL memberships!! 6 in 1 at founders pricing! The main one that contains EVERYTHING is called the Homeschool MOMentum Club (to help us homeschool mamas maintain that momentum all year long, I include critical resources every month determined by a monthly theme & focus!). And the MOMentum Club includes its own resources PLUS 5 other memberships are accessible all-in-one through it: History Club, High School Legacy Club, Nature Study Club, Scripture Club, and Audio Club. And of course, I wanted to meet you where you’re at, which is why you can get a membership for what YOU need individually buffet style OR get all of them in one through the MOMentum Club, the main membership. You know if I do something, it can’t be half-baked. 😉 With each of the six memberships FULLY LOADED, you will be completely set with having what you need in order to see bold consistency and that admirable “I know what to do” attitude. Again, you can check it out here: https://community.homeschoolandhumor.com/plan-subscription I’m pretty excited about it, and so I find it difficult to stop talking about it — sorry!
In other news, I recently discovered that my missing lesson plans weren’t missing at all. They’d just been living their best life in the clean laundry pile for approximately… two weeks. Two. Weeks. I found them folded up between a pair of leggings and a random sock that definitely doesn’t belong to anyone in this house. I don’t think? And usually I cannot stand clean laundry piling up, but if I’m being transparent, everything’s been piling up around here: the laundry, the wet towels, missed lessons, emails, my patience - basically, if it can pile up, it has (too bad that doesn’t include my bank account 🙄). You ever get to that point where you just start calling the mess “modern decor”? Yeah, that’s where we’re at. Or just call it “seasonal abundance.” Sounds fancier than saying, “I gave up on folding.” I’m this close to declaring my house an archeological site. On top of that…okay, this is very embarrassing…. We’ve been doing the monthly nature study resource pack from inside one of the new memberships opening on Monday, the Nature Study Club. It’s an autumn-themed nature study called Falling For Trees. Sounds adorable, right? Well, it was… until the kids spotted a deer track and took off following it straight into our neighbor’s yard (naturally, I’m half running behind them as well. Can’t miss the fun.) — and showed up in the middle of their Zoom meeting they were having outside!! So picture this: There I am, standing in my slippers, clutching my mug of lukewarm coffee like it’s holy water, and suddenly realizing… it’s 52 degrees outside and I definitely didn’t put on a bra. Or a jacket. I’m trying to act all casual, shouting across the yard, “Don’t pet the wildlife!” while doing that awkward crossed-arm shuffle every mom knows way too well. And trying to avoid splashing coffee all over the place in the process. (A wet shirt AND braless? I’d have JUST.DIED.) Meanwhile, their dog’s barking, my neighbor’s waving, and the deer’s long gone. So yeah… homeschooling’s still an adventure, even ten years in. A festive, slightly chilly one, at least. Anyway, speaking of festive, I really do want to hear about your Christmas traditions. Do you bake cookies every year? Go Christmas light hunting? Have matching PJs or a movie marathon night? Hit reply and tell me what your family does, because I’m picking my five favorite traditions and giving each of those mamas $20 in shop credit! 🎁 (And yes, you can totally use it toward the new memberships launching next week — the ones I keep rambling about because I’m just that excited.) So go ahead, spill your best Christmas tradition story. I’ll be over here digging for something (inevitably), refilling my coffee, and pretending my slippers are appropriate outdoor footwear for chasing kids chasing deer. xo, Richie PS: Can’t wait to read about your Christmas traditions — I’m seriously going to have the hardest time picking the top 5! Don’t forget to hit reply and tell me yours. PPS: You can absolutely sign up now if you want and enjoy what’s uploaded thus far as you await for the big drops on Monday: https://community.homeschoolandhumor.com/plan-subscription |
Hi, I’m Richie – homeschool single mama of 3! Yes, I homeschool… on purpose. I blog, I bribe my kids with snacks, and I’m a proud member of the “coffee first, questions later” club, powered by sarcasm and Jesus. If homeschooling feels a little wild, you’re in the right place. I serve up no-fluff tips, real-life resources, and the occasional eye roll at unrealistic Pinterest expectations. If you’ve ever lesson-planned at midnight with goldfish crumbs in your bed, you’re in good company. It’s my hope that you find delight in my words, treasures within my posts, and camaraderie in #momlife. Hey Reader! Happy Friday, Lovely! I am so here for FriYay this week. What a whirlwind. We kicked off our homeschool year a few weeks ago, and let’s just say… easing back into the rhythm has been about as smooth as a gravel driveway. I’m finally finding my groove transitioning from one kid’s lessons to the next. But a few weeks ago, when we just started back? Whew. Let’s just say caffeine was my co-teacher. One thing that saved my sanity? Year-round homeschool schedules!! I pulled out all 7 of...
Hey Reader! Just popping in one last time before the clock hits midnight to remind you that Daniel’s 15th Birthday Blowout Bundle disappears tonight. This was my totally rational, definitely-not-emotional way of dealing with the fact that my firstborn is officially fifteen — by giving away thousands of dollars of homeschool resources for just $60. We're talking: All 7 Summit VIP Passes + 7 private podcasts of those workshops Every Course I've created ALL the printables, activities, and...
Hey Reader! It's been unbearably how lately. We’re somewhere between homeschool, summer survival mode, and “should I just burn it all down and start a homesteading YouTube channel?” The 7-year-old who maintains that pants are optional but narration is not, so I now live with a full-time background commentator who insists on providing a play-by-play of his Minecraft world while I try to edit summit content. Or Roblox. He'll talk to me the whole time he's playing while I'm sitting next to him,...
